Your Right to Delete
You have the right to request deletion of personal information that Ask Rani holds about you. This page explains exactly how to request deletion and what to expect.
How to Request Deletion
You can request data deletion using any of the following methods:
Send an email to admin@askrani.ai with the subject line:
Data Deletion Request
Please include in your email:
- Your phone number (if you used WhatsApp), or the approximate date and store name (if you used the web chat)
- The business / store you interacted with (e.g., "Foodistan Cedar Park")
- A statement that you are requesting deletion of your data
If you've messaged a business on WhatsApp through Ask Rani, you can send the following message to that business's WhatsApp number:
DELETE MY DATA
Our system will recognize this and process your request. You will receive a confirmation within 24 hours.

What Happens Next
Step 1 — Confirmation (within 48 hours): We will acknowledge receipt of your deletion request and may ask for additional verification to confirm your identity.
Step 2 — Processing (within 30 days): Once your identity is verified, we will delete your conversation history, voice transcripts, and any other personal information we hold about you.
Step 3 — Confirmation: We will confirm in writing once your data has been deleted.
What Gets Deleted
When you request deletion, we remove:
- Your full conversation history with Ask Rani at the specified business(es)
- Voice note transcriptions and any retained audio files
- Image analysis results from photos you shared
- Your phone number and WhatsApp profile information from our active records
- Personal identifiers from analytics records (aggregated, de-identified statistics may remain)
What May Be Retained
We may retain limited information in narrow cases:
- Legal compliance — when required by tax, financial, or other legal obligations (typically 7 years for transactional records)
- Fraud prevention — minimal records of abusive or fraudulent behavior, retained only as needed for security
- Aggregated analytics — fully de-identified statistics that cannot be linked back to you
- Backup systems — backups may take up to 90 days to fully purge after the active deletion is processed
If You Used Multiple Stores
If you interacted with Ask Rani at more than one business, please specify which business(es) you want your data deleted from. You can request deletion from all businesses at once or only specific ones.
Children's Data
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 (or 16 in the EU) has shared personal information with Ask Rani, please contact us immediately at admin@askrani.ai with the subject "Child Data Deletion." We will prioritize and expedite these requests.
